Going next week. It is supposed to be a clean truck, been sitting about 2 years, was driven to where its parked. What should I look for? (Problems) I do know it has spent its whole life in the TX panhandle. Rust shouldnt be a major issue. It is a wide bed truck.

Rust at the front body mount on the drivers side is what I'd look for first. Then the lower edge of the tailgate, I have two and they're both rusted through at the kickout below the vertical flat area. That one I can't figure out why.
If it's manual steering the box is a Saginaw 525, easy to fix and parts are easy to find. Kingpins will need to be done, most likely.
Door latches on the pre-68 ones, later had better locks.
Hydraulic clutch can be a bother, although replacement parts are easy to find.
Turn signal canceling is often broken, I just live with mine.
Important vehicle information is on a tag on the driver side doorpost.
All in all they're pretty simple and durable trucks, mine is 50 years old, lived through two collisions and is still hauling me over the mountains.

Thanks dogdays, This one is a 63. If I get the truck, it will get a teardown and restomod. Thinking of a possible Dakota front frame clip, or maybe crown vic. More than likely big block power. I am more concerned with body issues like the body mounts and gate rust.
