I have always believed the 727 and 833 yoke are the same and the 904 is different but I have recently heard from 2 different sources that the 904 and the 727 use the same yoke and therefore it's the same as a 833. I don't have any 904 stuff to check and I'm not at home to confirm my 727/833 thoughts. Not sure the sources are credible, what are the facts.

That's what I thought but since I haven't tried it in a long time I had the question. I thought I knew and when the first person said it I just passed it off as they didn't know but then when a second one said it I began to doubt what I thought I knew.

Thank you.

A833 and 727 interchange. 904 is much smaller. Didn't there used to be a few guys on here who kind of policed miss information and called guys out on it? Never mind its after 10:00 pm guess they're all in bed.

I have seen 2 different A body OD 833s with different size output shafts. 1 904 size and 1 727 size.

There is no such thing as 904 yokes vs. 727 / 833 yokes for the u-joints.

AAR Cudas & Challenger T/As have the small yoke up front & the big one out back & they all have 727 & 833 transmissions.

Some of the 1967(and maybe some of the 1966 NP833) NP833 in the Hi Po 273 A body cars had output shafts that where the same spline and size as the 904 trannys where Never say never on Mopar parts IHTHs

A body OD's are like that , the 727 size is hard to find ?

66-7 A body 4-speeds are 26 spline/904 slip yoke. The exception will be 67 BB car, they were the first A body to use the 30 spline/727. All 68-Up 4-speeds are 30 spline.

I was referring to the u-joint sizes in the yokes, not the transmission splines for the yokes if that helps?

So the slip yokes are different fromthe 904 to 727, the early A-bodu 833s had the smaller 904 slip yoke and all 68 and up or BB 833s had the 727 slip yoke, with exception being some late O/D 833. Got it.
