Got wheel well trim for my 73 RR, didn't haven't on when I bought the car just the holes. I noticed the ones I got don't have fasteners or anything to go into the holes around the wheel well, what type of fasteners are to be used?

Thanks

Not sure what you have near you but most local auto body supply shops have a display with different styles and types of clips..Spring clips included...That way you can take the trim along for the correct size..

I was lucky...The 73 RR I restored did'nt have the wheelwell trim...The finding headlight buckets and rear bumper trim were all the fun I needed..

Sweet ride - I came very close to just filling the holes in but I thought it would look really sharp with the trim... searched for months finally go it but didnt have clips cause they weren't on a car.

Well, here is some pics for ya.

I lucked out and was able to reuse most of mine after a repaint.
And I was able to get some more from a junkyard car 3 years ago that had some still on it.

Unfortunately I don't know who is making them, but there are some large fastner companies out there.
As somebody said, you might try a local paint supply shop, as they might have a book to look them up or maybe have some pictures or better yet a display board with different fastners on it.

And the rear wheel trim, on the very bottom ends should have holes for screws. I thought it was weird that it was done that way.

Oh, I don't suppose that where you found your trim, that they might have more? I could use a set of rear wheel trim.

Here is a pic of the rear trim holes.Instead of a hole in the end of the trim like the rear, the front trim pieces use a clip that has a threaded screw which fits though a hole in the lower wheel well and a sheet metal nut on the inside.

Awesome! Pictures help a lot! And yes the back ones do have holes for screws, I assume they use the stainless screw with rubber on the back?

I got really luck on the trim - guy was selling a satellite on eBay with trim on and I asked about them, turned out he had a whole other set that don't appear to have been on a car. Only problem was no fasteners!

Another question, is the black insert painted, mine have some small scratches in the black but in other spot it almost looks like a thin black rubber or something?

Should clean up after hitting it with a small wire brush in a Dremel tool. The nut sometimes has a (usually?) plastic crown (not shown).

Not really able to find sets of these, I found a guy who has them NOS for all 4 wheel wells for $100... seems to be a little much but I am wondering if it would be worth it to just have the right clips... thoughts????
