Those that actually have them and drive them how do you like them? They obviously look cool, I am just curious on real world experience with them, would probably go with the R/T classic package. Thinking about looking for one in the next few months possibly and have few questions. What year did the cylinder cut-out on the automatic equipped ones start for mpg? What kind of mileage do ya get out of a manual trans one if you keep your right foot out of it? Any particular known issues or years to steer away from? Just some general input from those who have pulled the trigger on one. Thanks!

My kids has had two.The new one a 13 is the R/T.Both were R/Ts.Fully loaded. Its quick and a decent ride.On the highway it gets 29.The 09 got a little better because the wheels were lighter and wasnt fully loaded. He got as much as he paid for the 09 when he traded it in on the new one.His buddy bought it off the lot and drives it every day.The factory tires werent real great in snow and ice.The new tires are a lot better.Rocky

Love my 2011 SRT. My mileage is low(14mph) but its all around town driving and is almost always spirited. Have not taken it on any long trips and only a few times on the hiway. The few times I did it cruised real well. You will find yourself going way over the speed limit and not even realize it. Only gripe is I like the RT seats better than those in the SRT(wish Dodge would have had an option w/different seats, color, patter, style). I'm 6' 200lba and I swear these seats were made for a 12 yr old boy and these seats are WAY more roomy than my wife's 2010 Mustang.

I have a '10 R/T classic with auto.(wife insisted) 25 mpg plus on the highway. MDS is disabled in manual mode. Transition between the two is smooth. Nice riding and handling for the weight. Really reminds me of those late 60's / early 70's Grand Prixs. You can research a lot on Challengertalk.com.

I have a 2010 R/T. 5.7 with a 6 speed. if you get a 2010, you want the "STP" package. They started havingg them mid-year, mine doesn't have it and neither does my parents. I've lowered mine and have a rear view camera I put in. I bought mine on ebay and drove it home from Philadelphia. I averaged 26-28 mpg on the way back. Driving around town I get 22ish now. Just know it won't be the fastest of the mustang/camaro/challenger comparison. But its tough to compare it to those anyway. I've ran a 13.9 with mine in the quarter mile. The autos are even faster. But if you have a 392, then you're cruising and keeping up with the other competitors cars. I've fit 5 in the car and didn't get any complaints. Also I think the 2010 and older driver side front seat does not fold forward. Kind of annoying. Like someone else said, go to challengertalk.com. Heck you can even find a good deal on one there.

One of the first things I did is lower it 1.6" with a MP stage 2 kit, really helped out the handling, clearance, not so much. Fast is an understatement!

I've got 85,000 miles on my 09 R/T Classic. Been to hell and back with it. 5.7 Hemi, auto. I have clicked off mid-13's in the quarter mile, gotten 35 mpg on the highway in extreme instances.
Normally on mine I will get high teen's in the city for mpg and mid to high 20's on normal highway driving.
Personally I would get an 11 and up. They had a few revisions to the suspension, a better steering wheel, misc other upgrades.

Thanks for all the replies! And some great looking rides you guys have! What does the STP package consist of?? Also what is the deal with disconnecting/disabling the MDS? Why? Keep the suggestions coming, Thanks!

Why would you disconnect the MDS? Some people who are not well informed believe it is better. It is not. It works as advertised. It increases fuel mileage, and does it seamlessly. I can not tell in my 09 when I go from ECO mode to all 8. Only the sound changes.
And STP is the Super Track Pack option. Gives you a slightly better suspension, better brake pads, misc other odds and ends.

mine is a 2010 SRT , automatic. I usually get 18 to 21 mpg, mixed driving. If I get on the open highway, my speed goes up, and my mpg goes down.
