I dont have access to an A/F meter, and this carb has been fiddled with and could have non-stock components.

The engine in question is a 340 mildly built w/stock intake, x heads, and comp xe268 cam. Read:Nothing crazy

the carb is off a bigblock (75 400 or 77 440, i cant remember right now)

The Question is, what size jets and rods would you think is a good fit, or baseline for a street driven 4speed? Ive seen a mopar muscle article use 095 jets and #2145 rod on a seemingly mild 360(not many details). Does this sound about right? I dont drive at high altitude either

I'll take it apart and compare to what you guys recommend.

Thanks

My stocker carb has a 4099 primary jet and a 5110 secondary that's been drilled to approx. .135". Running the 2002 metering rod (.065/.052/.040 steps IIRC). I'm actually surprised at how well behaved it is around the pits and I'm running more cam duration than you will be.

Jared, Have you given any thought to taping the primary jet seats to use Holley jets. You will not have to use the metering rods. It is a lot easier to change primary jet sizes when you are tuning.

went on 74 -77 440 - truck.
Pri jet = .098
Sec jet = .137
Rod = 75-2024 3 step - .066, .054, .040 ( econo, mid,power.
Bore = 1 1/2"
strip kit #10-203.
Start here to verify all the correct stuff is in it and make your mods from there. Shouldn't need to do much to it with minor engine mods. Should run good!
