Hey Guys,

Putting this cam in my 440 tomorrow..I know its not every bodies first pick but its what I have to work with at this point. Has anybody used this "new" 114 centerline cam and have any install tips as far as advance, etc?

Thanks!

Paul

I asked about this cam in another thread. You will get a range of responses like I did. Many people love to chime in with..."There are many better choices out there" comments without giving an alternative. Talking down one thing without giving a specific alternative seems pointless to me. I had the traditional 509 in my car and was happy with it. I was considering this 114 version because of the purported improved street manners.

No expert here......

but with that much duration and if you have less than 10:1 compression, less than 3500+ stall converter, a 3400+ lb car, I'd advance that cam for more low end performance (not "straight up" but 4 degrees).

The wide LSA will broaden the torqueband and help the low end street manners also. Buuut torque rules on the street and you need all you can muster.
