It's all disconnected, except for 5 or so bolts and the the bolt heads seem to be covered by a strip of the windshield rubber molding. Do I really have to remove the windhshield molding, glass etc, to get the dash frame out?? Or is there some slick trick to this? And I thought taking an E body dash frame out was a pain in the dupa.... Thanks...

You can get under the dash with a die grinder and cut the bolts and clips. Then put in new clips and run the bolts from the bottom up.
I've heard Jim Lusk discribe it like that before also.
You can do it without taking the windshield out.

I never said I would do it that way but if you dont want to pull the glass, buy a new gasket and pay to have it re-installed what choice do you have.
I bet most people would never even notice the bolts upside down

Actually, that doesnt sound half bad. As mentioned, I'd hate to have to pay to have the windshield R & R'd just to put the dash frame in, but depends on the cost. Plus Id have to pay to have the windshield people come out twice; once to pull it, then again to install it once the new dash frame was in place.
And you take the chance of the windsheild guys screwing something up like your trim or paint.

I'll wait to see if anyone else chimes in with some ideas, but right now, that one is winning.
I know people here and other lists have done it without taking out the windshield. PM Jim Lusk
