IMGTX OP I Live Here Joined: Apr 2003 Posts: 12,234 Looking for a way out of Middl...	My son's O8 Caliber ate the harmonic balancer seal when a fan belt shredded. 1.8 engine. I was able to pull the harmonic balancer off by hand. Pretty much fell right off. Is that normal for that engine? I'm used to using a puller on them. IF I have to put a new one on I don't mind but would rather do it now and not later.

hemi70 enthusiast Joined: Aug 2003 Posts: 311 Mass. USA#1	Yes, it is normal for the balancer to come off easily once the bolt is removed. They are not a press fit just a slip on with the keyway and bolt torque holding it on. Gary.
