HI!

I know that you could special order a Rallye Hood on a 318 Challenger....

However....

Could you order a twin scoop hood on a 318 Barracuda? or any Barracuda for that matter???

Thinking about adding a twin scoop hood to my 71 Barracuda vert. Its an all original car otherwise....just needs a repaint.

Previous owner also added the gilled fenders....which Im tempted to replace with non gilled ones and add the twin hood scoop....just to keep things original.

Thanks!

D

It was an option, nothing special. "Special orders' were for things like paint colors not available on that model.

The page at http://www.hamtramck-historical.com/images/dealerships/DealershipDataBook/1971/71_Barracuda_26.jpg has the answer you seek.

Oh OK.

Not a special order item, but available for extra cost as I can see....

Im adding it to my vert even though not coded for it on the tag. Makes it look much better IMO!

Thanks!

Barry, what about '70? I seem to recall it being available mid-year but it's not in your info, which likely was preliminary.

Just off the top of your head - no need to search where I have failed.

I parted a B5 1970 slant 6 Barracuda in the late 70's, very original car bought off the original owner(blown engine), B5 interior and B5 vinyl top as well, all the belt mouldings, power windows!, yes power windows, bench seat, and a dual scoop hood....car was well decked out in options, but the performance option was clearly not important, what was left of it went to Chet Greenwood

Diego, I do not have a complete set of Product Information Bulletins for the 1970 Dodges & Plymouths yet. Running changes in the options were noted in them.

That said, I do have a broadcast sheet here for a 1970 Gran Coupe with a 318 that has J54 noted for the hood. The scheduled production date is 304 - March 4, 1970 (44 years ago today)

Cool.

I'd put my money on it being a legit car than an anomaly.

Do you mean the rally hood? If so, I have a 71 318 barracuda that has the rally hood. Is there a code for it...don't see it on my FT though. There is something called "sport hoods" on build sheet, but not checked off. The previous owner did not add; owned since early 80's but did had 2 previous owners...
