I will be installing the 2003 5.9 magnum motor into my 69 coronet pretty soon and need help with what flex plate and torque converter I will need. My motor was missing the flex plate when I bought it so I need to find out what I should go with. I believe these motor are externally balanced so I will need a weighted flex plate and neutral balance torque converter. Where's the best place to try and order this stuff and get help to make sure I getting the right ones for it?
This stuff is all pretty new to me.

b&m used to make the flex plate. you can still find them. it was the weighted flex plate for 98 and up 5.9 mag motors. but not sure if they actually make it anymore.

and whatever neutral balanced torque converter they make for your transmision should be fine.
I reused the one for my poly 318. in my 727.

Great thanks for the reply. I think I may have a couple of 727 318 torque converters laying around maybe I'll just use one of those.

Isn't the flexplate still available from the dealer?

someone has a box of those no longer available flexplates from B&M...this is the second set of 5 that he has posted.

these are for a 5.9 magnum to 904 trans.

That's awesome thanks for the link, I'm going to buy one right now. Would I be able to use the 318 torque converter that is in my 69 coronet right now? I'm not sure if it's neutral balance or not. I'm not even sure what neutral balance torque converter even means(lol).

All 318's use neutral balanced converters which means there are no external balance weights welded to the face of the converter.

If you're gonna use the electronics that come with an '03 Magnum you need to consider the magnetic pickup on the back of the block.

Nope, I plan on using all the factory coronet engine wiring harness on it. I took all the fuel injection stuff off of it and made it carbureted.
That's great I'll just order up that flex plate and I should be golden. Thanks all the help as always.
