Carsavior OP super stock C Joined: Jan 2003 Posts: 889 Monroe, LA USA	65 New Yorker with a 413 and hi-po manifolds. The rag joint assy will touch the flange on the manifold when accelerating. Need to replace the rag joint with something having a smaller diameter. Saw a u-joint on the flaming river site that looks like it might work. Anybody ever use one of these rag joint replacements? Know how they go in? Do you have to cut one of the shafts? Thanks- Pat

PossessedDuster enthusiast Joined: Dec 2007 Posts: 232 Alberta Canada	Did one on my Duster and the instructions state to cut the shaft and I had to. Duster had a plunge joint however not a rag joint. Knowing more about body flex and the like I wouldn't do it again.

ahy master A Joined: Jan 2007 Posts: 7,664 IN	The rag joint takes out flex of the body/frame under load and is a safety feature in case of front collision. Suggest you keep it. Stiffer engine mounts (eg Schumacher poly locks) and/or shimming the engine mounts up a little may be a better solution.
