Currently at the shop getting mini tubbed.
My mechanic has the dana but I need a carrier.
I am going to go 35 spline axles, and want something up to the task
The car will be mainly street driven.
Is the eaton truetrac any good? How much can it take?

Which gear ratio will you run on the posi carrier? You need the correct carrier to match the gear ratio there are two common sizes, 3 sereis gears, 3.54 to 4.10 and 4 sereis carriers for 4.56 and above, depending on which brand gear and if a Pro gear versus a standard non Pro gear

They make both 3 and 4 series 4:30 gear sets.

In theory, there is no difference between theory and practice. In practice, there is.

I went through a lot of searching including calling Strange Engr, Mark Williams, U.S. Gear and several shops the U.S. Gear rep. said to call, it seems like the old Richmond 4.30 Pro gear sets will fit the three sereis carriers and spools, all the regular 4.30 gear sets won't All I can say is good luck on getting it correct the first time I bought a set of U.S. gears from a member on here with a Strange Engr. 35 spline spool that they had used in thier rear end, I run a set of 40 spline Mark Williams axles and it had a set of Pro 5.86 gears on a five sereis Mark Williams aluminum spool. I bought a Moser 4 series 40 spline steel spool and the 4.30 gears wouldn't work on it I bought a used set of Dana OEM 4.56 and put that in the car IHTHs

Rocky I have 3 series and 5 series spools in the shop so I would get the gear from Doctordiff that will fit either one.I think I read somewhere that 4.30 pro-gears fit 5 series carriers and street gears fit 3 series carriers but then I might have it the other way around
4.30 gears seem to be the most controversial as far as what carrier they fit or what company made them when

All 3.54-4.30 STREET gears (Except old/US made Richmond 4.10 gears) fit 3 series carriers.

New/Italian made Richmond 4.10 street gears fit 3 series carriers.

All 4.56-7.17 street gears (and old/US made Richmond 4.10 street gears) fit 5 series carriers.

All Dana 60 PRO gears, regardless of ratio, fit 5 series carriers.
