I know this question has been asked a million times but who is running a cast crank
or 4340 I beam rods? How much power and what kinds of et's? I personally know of some people running 10.20's-10.50's on the scat 4340 I beam rods. I've also heard
some people going same #'s with the cast crank. How long it lasts I don't know? I've
heard a guy claim 200 runs.

Personally I think your rods are the weak link

It depends a lot on stroke I think. The 360 and 440 OE cast cranks are pretty tough. 4" stroke cast on a SB is not so tough with many stories of failure.

I went 10.30s with a factory cast crank. Went boom about 1400 passes, mostly 1/4 mile. I was not a bit upset when it broke, as 1400 runs is a fairly long life for an engine that is either idleing or screaming at 7000+ rpm. The block survived this and now has a 4340 Scat crank and I-Beam rods. With some updated head porting, a rear sump pan and 200G lighter bobweight, hopfully 10.0s or even a high 9 sec. pass possible with this eng. now. 371c.i., production heads, and a flat tappet cam, 3080lbs.
