We bought a '70 Super Bee 440-6 in Phoenix (no motor or trans) back in the 80's from a guy & that car was a 4-speed & DID NOT have torque boxes. Yep - #'s were stamped in the body it was an original 440-6 car.

Was looking at an original RM21 hemi post car today. It has rear torque boxes but does not have them on the front. Did hemi hardtops have them in front and back and this is just something common to post cars? Original car, VIN and body numbers match.
No, just rears, convertibles had fronts and rears.

Both of my '70 v-code Charger R/T's I've owned didn't have them. Now, my '71 u-code Charger R/T did have them, but that was a completely different platform........ I would think any b-body between '66-70 that WASN'T equipped with a 426 HEMI nor a ragtop and had torque boxes was a fluke........
TroyHouston Mopar Connection Club'69 Charger Daytona 440 - auto - 4.10 Dana (now with 426 hemi) '69 Charger 500 440 - 4speed - 3.54 Dana '70 Road Runner 383 - 4speed - a/c (now with 440)

My 1970 Lynch rd., 3/20/70 build date V code superbee, auto, 8 3/4 has torque boxes.
...and my 1970 Lynch rd., 12/16/1969 build date V code superbee, auto, 8 3/4 does NOT have torque boxes.
According to my (admittedly unscientific) research, the vast majority (almost all) V code hardtops came sans boxes.
