Since these new roller cams are going to cost me twice the price, I was leaning towards a 53 mm cam What's the advantage over a standard cam journal?
I would go with the standard Ford size, which is 55 MM I think The larger journal sizes allow you to have a cam ground with more lift and not have to reduce the size of the base circle or grind the cam in closer to the center of the cam, to get the additional lift
A BBF is 54mm which is a very common babbit bearing size

What size would you need to go to if you wanted to run roller cam bearings? Jerry

Bring your wallet and take your pick. 65 m.m. , 70 m.m. , 75 m.m. I am struggling to recall the largest I have read about , but 90 m.m. rings a bell.

You can do roller bearings at 55MM. I have a 55MM and 70MM cam both roller bearing
