Anyone have experience removing mildew from interiors? The interior of my road runner has mildew on the seats, dash, and door panels. What's the best way to remove it without fading or doing any harm? I tried a damp rag and it seemed to get it off but would like to clean it better.

a friend of mine had a similar issue with a 70 AAR cuda. His wife used quick and bright from the infomercials and it worked great. Car had brand new interior, headliner, etc, and it sat in a garage prior to them buying it and drew moisture.

I tried it on a 40k mile 69 cuda I had with white interior and it worked great. I think the main ingredient is lonalin. Goop may work just as good.

I use Spray Nine to clean the mold off the interior. It works great.
You can get it at Home Depot

SoftScrub with bleach. You may want to dilute it until you see how your panels like it.

Master, again and still

Thanks for the advice guys.Going to give lysol a shot since I have some already.
Do you use lysol disinfectant or the mold&mildew stuff with bleach?

Here's the problem ...

Mold and mildew form wherever there is moisture. So it is on the back of every panel, behind the dash, on the wiring, under the headliner, under the carpet, inside the seats, etc, etc.. So when you tackle it, take as much apart as you can. Any mold you miss will spread if conditions are right. If the car smells of mold and mildew, its there!
Once you've cleaned it to your satisfaction, you'll need to keep the car moisture-free while in storage so you should invest in a de-humidifier for your shop. The worst thing is humid summer weather.

Also, if its been there a while the mold and mildew is going to leave a very distinct stain that is impossible to wash away. Armorall or a similar product will mask it.

Good luck !!

I've use hand cleaner with light pumice like GoJo. Works great and the pumice gives it some bite. Rub it on, scrub a bit and wipe it off.

Never had a problem since this summer, have since put a dehumidifier in the garage. It seems to only be on one side of my garage because my cuda has no mildew on it and it's parked next to the road runner.

Throughout the winter I keep my shop around 55*. If we get a warm day in the spring and I leave any door open for any length of time, condensation builds up on the car (moist warm air - cold object). Its less visible on the interior but obviously its there and this is what breeds mold and mildew and from one small spore it breeds like wildfire.

Why one of your cars and not the other? Was one completely closed (windows, etc.) and the other left open? Maybe one gets more heat than the other or is further from open doors. Who knows! Cars that get more use also tend to have less of an issue - like daily drivers !!

There are some pucks on the market that you can put in the car while its being stored but they probably "prevent" mold moreso than kill it since it did nothing for mine (and it was as bad as yours!). Although I have to admit I don't know what "dead" mold should look like !! Once you open the package you're not supposed to breath the gas it emits so you have to leave the car sealed up until you want to use it Which I suppose is a good thing as it will keep most of the moisture out.

My garage is heated, but only has baseboard heat on one side of the garage (cuda side). I had 3 boxes of arm&hammer in the interior and for some reason thought it was a good idea to crack the road runners windows to let air move through. That's where I went wrong. My cuda was closed and I do drive that on occasion. I also keep my shop around 55 degrees.
I started to clean it today, luckily it hasn't been there for long so I don't think it is leaving any permanent stains. The first warm day we get before spring I'm going to push it outside and wash the whole car and let it dry in the sun.
