Getting close in the resto to start thinking about the motor. My 440 has been on a stand for 10 years and I will be getting it ready for the rebuild. I have been reading threads about rocker arms snapping, and it got me thinking about how reliable the rockers I have are. I know they were not cheap 11 years ago when I bought them, I only ran them for a year until I decided to restore the car. Never got the chance to test them, they may have about 1000 miles on them and Ive had no issues, but I want to run them again (provided that they are still good, no reason they shouldn't), but has anyone had any issues with these? I had the 1.6 blue aluminum ones if that matters. Im a fan of Hughes's products, but Im wondering how these held up for folks over the years. Did a quick search and couldn't really find anything. Thanks guys

Post this in Q&A or the race section and you will get better response. With that said I have never seen negative comments on the Hughes arms. I have their rocker hold down kit on mine with Comps rockers/shafts(the Comp hardware left a lot to desired IMO)and it's nice stuff.

ALL aluminum parts have a finite service life; that's the nature of aluminum, as a material.

I have no idea what the design margins are for the Hughes rockers, but the new ones seem to have a good reputation. S/F....Ken M

Those are the Dove Products rockers like Indy still sells for SRs and EZs. Hughes doesn't sell those anymore and switched to rockers that used to be made by Probe Industries, before Hughes bought up their Mopar rocker "stuff" when Probe got out of the rocker business.

The Dove parts have been OK for hydraulic & solid flat-tappet cam use. Their durability issues are usually associated primarily when used w/ higher spring loads common to solid roller cams.

The rocker arms that we sell now are guaranteed for life against breaking. We have little to no issue at all with durability. For added insurance when using high spring pressures we suggest buying them from us with the Cryo Treating.

Kevin...That is awesome! My spring pressures aren't crazy and Radar Lechtenberg looked them over when he ported my heads. He thought they were very nice! Thanks for a good product!
