Hey guys, I am having trouble getting the trunk extensions to fit in a 70 Challenger. I have replaced a ton of panels in my shop and have had no major problems with parts from AMD. However these measure up short on the trunk floor side by 3/4" I talked to AMD and sent them pics and they say all theres in the warehouse measure the same If any of you guys have a set Could you please measure them and post the results. This is a pic of the drivers side measured from the drop to the flat portion of the rear of the extension between the flat tabs they lay on top of the trunk floor. It measures 5 5/8" on the inside and 6 3/8" to the out side edge. The original panels were 3/4' wider here. Thanks Dan

I had the exact same problem with my 71, the driver side didn't fit worth a crap, the passenger side wasn't bad but I had to cut it up to make it fit. I took my original extension cut off what was rusted and took the AMD piece and cut off the parts I needed then butt welded them together to make it work. check out my page in the survivor/project car forum

I'll get flamed for this but I just put a set on a 72 cuda with AMD qrt skins using the original trunk floor with no issues. Granted we ordered the drop offs n qrts a good 5 years ago so not sure if there has been changes in manufacturing. Yes I am a dealer for AMD but am no means sticking up for the issues at hand you are having. Ask if there has been any design changes from before. Sorry couldn't help any more that this.

I have talked to them in depth and they wont give any real info up. If you have a set let me know so we can make some measurements.

do you have anything to compare/referance to
so you know exactly what is off?

some amd is called mih
or make it happen!
i have had to splce/add material and/or cut material off to make it fit.
don't rely on amd to help you.

i can say on the b body extentions
they are off slightly but nothing you can't make fit.

i even have had nos/used examples up against amd panels
and i was suprised that the amd wasn't that far off.

My 70 Challenger had the drop offs and quarters replaced with AMD panels using the original trunk floor. Mine fit great and measure exactly the same as yours. Are you saying the measurement is off because there is too much gap between the quarter and the edge of the drop off?

awww cmon!!! some massaging is expected! Id say those fit just fine!!! Some whacks and you shsould be good!
