So I know brewers and everywhere else I have looked says the correct clutch fork for a SB is 10 7/8" or so long but I am putting together a 72 340 Challenger and the fork I have is coming up short at that length. When clipped in the pivot the fork isn't putting the throwout bearing in the center of the crank/psi plate and the torque shaft doesn't line up with the other side of the fork very well either. I found one in my parts inventory about 12 5/8" long and it looks perfect both sides. Just wondering what gives? Bellhousing is showing correct part# for the car, 10 1/2" parts with 130t flywheel. Are there any differences in the fork pivots in the bell? It's the one in that came in it. I also have a new clutch adjuster kit for a SB from brewers and noticed it has a slight kick towards the bellhousing in it but if I run the long fork it looks like a straight shot with my zbar. It looks like this longer fork is supposed to be for a newer SB overdrive truck or something?

Guess I'm just wondering where the issue is to keep from running into more problems later as I keep assembling.

Thanks
Chad

Most likely is the bell housing has the A-body/long fork pivot in place. Our FP680 should fix your problem: http://www.brewersperformance.com/proddetail.asp?prod=FP680
