Hi all,
Im looking at possibly replacing my rear diff with a Dana 60. I have a 71 B body with 904 currently mated to 8.25. Instead of shortening my current driveshaft I would prefer a new one. What are my lanmarks for getting a proper measurement. Are there any specific steps that I need to take? Suspension loaded, unloaded? Anyone have a diagram showing where Im measuring from/to. And who would you recommend to to use for my new one? Any cost estimates.
Thanks in advance roe

You have your answer already in our archives http://www.moparts.org/Tech/Archive/axle/5.htmlAll you need to do is take your existing drive shaft and shorten it 1.78" or if you insist have the shop use the original as a pattern and build it 1.78" shorter ![](/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbs.gif)

rear loaded. car reasonably level. Butt front yoke all the way in the trans. Take a C to C measurement. subtract 3/4" from your measurement
