Running a 20x12 on the rear with a 315/35/20 on my 68 Barracuda

I want to run the largest front wheel and tire combo on the front that I can.... and keep the car low

I was thinking that a 19x8 but I dont know about tire size and backspace.

We will mock it up but if I can get an idea to get me started I will be good

Thanks for the help guys

Josh

I don't know how the alterk compares to stock, but I run 18x9 with a 6.4bs.

I can fit a 275/40/17 (25.7" dia.) on a 17x9 rim easily with the right backspace on my 68 Barracuda. But the bottom front fender lip needs to be clipped/bent in a little.

As the overall tire diameter increases room for the tire width will decrease.

315/35/20 is really tall! In a wide front I have never seen anyone go bigger/taller than the 275/40-17 or 275/35-18 without running a fender flare. I remember seeing a Canadian autocross car with a 315/35-17 on all four corners with fender flares.

You need to talk with Bill. I had a discussion with him once, I seem to remember that the track width was the same as my '75 K frame with Cordoba rotors. I also think that the Alter-K can not run as wide a wheel because of the steering arm on the spindle. Speak to Bill, he should know.

Im ok with a 275 Width 26" tall on a 19" wheel.

Or maybe a little narrower

I know on my B-body AlterKation, the spindles are about 1" further out than with the stock K-frame. So you may need a little more back spacing on the wheel to get it to tuck in well enough to have clearance. (sorry - no a-body experience)

275 wide and 26" tall will fit. Just need to float those outer dimension in and out with the correct backspacing.

Look for a 05+ 18x9 Mustang wheel for mock up. It would be the cheapest closest option.

Mopar to the bone!!!
