why do I see lifters with a part number for 1958-1967. then another number for 68 and up? What is different about them?

What happens if I put later parts into a 1966 block?

The original 67 and older used a smaller pushrod cup.

Its fine to run the later lifters, as far as I know the early style lifters are not available. You will need later style pushrods that aren't tapered, but no issues otherwise.

Thanks. makes sense.
I was going for a long shot,I have a strange oil pressure problem, wasn't sure if something like oiling hole was higher/ lower. I was hoping anyway. I'll need to check for markings, maybe this block uses oversized lifters?
