the impala dumps the clutch at 8000 on the street! did he think he was gonna hook!LMAO did any of those drag week dudes think they were going to win on a supposedly unprepped street as aposed to a prepped track. we all knew what the outcome was going to be! maybe if they raced a 1/4 mile the outcome may have been closer.

I didn't know Lutz ran 217, I thought that was Tom Bailey's Camaro. Jeff didn't even finish drag week this year, but they made him out to be the king. Nothing against him, I think his car and the evil twin are awesome, but to flat out lie like that is just uncalled for.

These episodes were shot BEFORE last years Drag Week. Before Tom Bailey shattered the marks last year, Jeff Lutz' 57 WAS the quickest and fastest ever Drag Week car. He had been 6.90 @ 217. Reason I know, I was behind him putting him in the groove on that pass. Had a good look at it. So at the time of shooting, everything they said was true. As far as being "King" of Drag Week, that was just Chiefs opinion and he is entitled to it.
Now both Larry Larsen and Jeff Lutz are friends of mine, know both well. While Larry is likely the "REAL KING" of Drag Week, people love that 57 and after Larry winning 5 years in a row, Jeff and his car are VERY popular.
Flip was a great guy and I had done some work for him.....but, he had a long history of issues. NOT alcohol, NOT drugs, but a history of problems dealing with depression and serious mood swings. Just got the better of him one day

This wasn't after drag week? It thought it was october ish of 2013. The pics of Lutz 57 Towing the Murdernova and pics of Shawn Finks car were all over the midwest street cars facebook page around october november. I guess they could have held onto all of that stuff from the previous winter.

The little that we got to see him on the show he seemed like a very likable guy. Laided back and loved racing. Very sad.

Sorry, I stand corrected. The Drag Week stuff was shot later, because I remember me and Jeff talking about him being out there.......But.......they never said he won Drag Week, or was even the fastest. It did say he had been 6.90s at 217, which was true and Chief proclaimed him "King" of Drag Week, which may be true in Chief's opinion. So they didn't lie or mislead about anything. Also, the only real Drag Week cars there were Lutz and Fink. I have never seen that Chevelle nor the Bubble top before. Other Drag Week cars were supposed to be there, but they made a last minute schedule change and many couldn't make it.

Monte I wasn't trying to correct anyone just making sure I had it straight.
I am sure Jeff had nothing to do with the scripting of how they talked about him. Its not like he hasn't tried his ass off to win drag week. I hope he can do it in the Evil Twin although I am sure Bailey has cards he hasn't shown yet.
That 57 is one of my favorite all time cars, its just evil and cool looking. Even more sinister looking going down the highway.

Besides the silly sound effects, the only real problems I have are:
Chief constantly called the Oklahoma cars "Street Cars" (which they are NOT)
The Dragweek cars ARE "Street Cars" and prove it yearly..
Funny that Lutz drove his car there while all those "Oklahoma Street Cars" were trailer queens.. lol..
I think Murderer Nova tried Dragweek once and made it a whole 50 miles..
Anyway, the fastest "Street Cars" are at Dragweek..
Larry Larson, Jeff Lutz, Tom Bailey, Shawn Fink and the Texas Pro Mod "Street Car" from Texas.. (can't remember his name)
The "Street Outlaws" should actually try Dragweek (and survive) if they want to call themselves the "fastest"
Also, The Farmtruck and Aisain are what the general public don't like about "Street Racing"..
They are a bit too old to act like immature teenagers.. They do stupid stuff that makes the program look bad.
Chris..
