I don't think 69 Barracuda were optional with hood pins. I believe it was a late 69 Dart option though.

hood latch: grey brownish cad type plating with different component plated differently (washers, rivets...)

catch: brown dichromate zinc finish (grey brownish cad type plating) with rivet plated differntly.

striker (on hood): body color along with bolts

spring: brown dichromate zinc

release handle: brown dichromate zinc

release handle large pivot bolt (67-69 Barracuda only part): silver cad

rods: brown dichromate zinc

that's a thread on super OE detailing of Mopar hood latches. Just take a deep breath if you don't need or want to go ultra anal OE resto on your latches. Just plate them medium to dark dull grey. Or find someone that will plate brown dichromate zinc

Thank you very much that helps! I think Jules is out?? his web site is closed down ! I think hes done restoring parts for people?
I seen in that post MMC Detroit sold manuals on E and B body "correct" restoration does anyone know of a manual like this for A body? I would like to have my 69 barracuda as close to correct as possible! As far as the hood pins go, I decided to put a 6 pack hood on from AAR. 69 hoods are to plain looking! So I think the hood pins will look good with that hood.

Jules died, that is why this section of Moparts is named after him. Why would you be concerned about correct look if you are using an AAR hood and drilling holes in your fenders?

Do you need a hood latch with an aftermarket fiberglass hood and jood pins?

Attention to detail!I already stated why I am changing the hood.I don't like the 69 stock hoods.I like the six pack hood and I like a restored hood latch! I am not into getting my car judged , but I like restoring it .Its just a hobby to me like many others and this is what I want.as far as drilling holes in the fenders goes The holes go in the hood don't they?and the rad support? Does it go through fenders?

I don't know. Do I? Does the fiberglass get a different latch? I thought I could use the original latch. I Do need the hood pins!

The factory location for hood pins are the fenders, there are little dimples where they go.

Here it is on a Dart, same location on a Barracuda.

Were 69 Barracudas optional with hood pins, or was that a 69 Dart only thing?

I have never seen a J45 on a Barracuda fender tag, however I only really care about Darts, so maybe Dave knows?

My unmolested, one owner 69 Barracuda 340-S notchback is similar but apparently not exactly like this.

Hood Latch or Catch (same thing). Same as said above. Here's a photo of the unrestored original. Mostly it is brown dichromate with some parts in black dichromate. The long handle part is dip painted black. The dip line is visible at the bottom of the photo.

Hood Striker. Same as said above. The striker is formed rod, and it was bolted to the hood before painting, so the striker and the bolts are body color.

Pop-up Spring. Mine was painted body color.

Release Handle: As already said, this was dip painted black to a certain depth, leaving a dip line.

"release handle large pivot bolt": My car does not have this AFAIK.

"rods: brown dichromate zinc": My car does not have this AFAIK.

Another photo of the unrestored part. The black part in the middle is black zinc, according to Jules, who restored this part a year ago.

from the fabo site it looks like the guys just use the most inner top fender to rad support bolt hole ..Instead of drilling a hole , they take the u nut out and bolt and just use the existing hole.

thank you kentj340 for the pictures! that helps..
I guess my next question is who else is out there who restores these like or any where near as good as Jules did?
Anyone know a good plater?
I may just send it out and have it all brown dichromate plated if I can't find someone who has the correct rivets..
is there anyone out there with these rivets?

My bad. I listed 67-68 Barracuda latch hardware. The 69 got a different grille and the latch hardware changed. Smart they redesigned it with a lot less parts and less oppurtunity for rattles.
