Is there any type of date coding on 8.75 rear differential center sections? 741 case if that makes a difference. Thanks

I believe the assemble date is stamped in white paint on the drivers side of the pinion snout and I think the casting has a date cast into it but I cant swear to that, I will try to look at one later if no one confirms it.

Careful, your character's showing!

Last one. Though not a 741 as in your case but, yes, there are several date references on some. It appears that the gears in this instance were forged 6 days prior to installation in the case or at least in assembly / accountability process.

Close up view showing it actually is white paint, even though it looks yellow at first glance.
