Just a piece of advice, don't take it to a body shop take it to a restorer. There is a BIG difference between even the best collision and paint guy/shop and a true restorer. They just don't think last 20 years they think look good when it leaves.

Lots of little guys doing quality metal work, ask around, look at some of their work and if possible in process pictures or jobs. Don't go for the cheap guy or the guy that cen get you right in. Quality cost money and if they are good they have a back log. One of the biggest things is prep behind any replaced metal and digging deep enough to get it all out before you come back out. It is best whenever possible to have the guy/shop that is gonna paint it do ALL the body work that way no one can blame the other guy if something happens down the line.

Not really sure how soon, trying to get ideas on cost and such. Im headed to korea for two years so if a can find a good shop i would have my father drop it off mid to late next year. Could be later depending on my housing cost over there.

Im just not sure how much needs to be done to make it all rust free, kinda wanted a pro to take a peak.

I have a friend who does restorations. He charges by the week so I'm not sure he can give you that accurate of an estimate, especially when it comes to rust. Is you car disassembled? What year Coronet is it? Are you wanting the body work done only or paint too? Does your can need panel replacement or just repairs on existing sheetmetal?

Let me know and I''ll ask him if he would be interested, although I'm not sure he can get to it in your timeframe. He is a busy man, small shop, and does quality work.

What year? Where are you located? What area of the car, roof floor? A lot of missing information missing here.

It's a 1966 2dr hard top. Car is not disassembled but it does not have any trim or interior. I know I need a new torsion bar crossmember and floor pans. None of the body panels have holes but the previous person gave it a cheap pair job so I can see rust bubbles on rear quarters trunk lid and around front and rear glass. I'm just looking for the rust fixed and the car in primer. If the paint is reasonable I'd consider it.

My timeframe is plenty flexible and I can have the car disassembled if it makes a big difference.

I'm living in the sticks between noble and Shawnee a place called macomb.

If needed I can take the car by, I'm not to busy just visiting family before my trip.

Sorry for slow responses spent to much time in shop.
