Hey all,

The 5 spd truck didnt work out because of a title issue, but he let me have at a '99 truck instead AND I have been able to work on it in a heated shop.

The truck is a basic '99 1500 2wd long box. 318/auto Overall, other than the box its not too bad off. Some J.O. took the rt. taillight when it was sitting behind his shop but otherwise it was complete.

The issue was that some kids of a previous owner took off in it with a leaky radiator and locked the motor up. So I got a motor in with the deal (one I owned previously, ironically).

So, as it its now I have to drop on the '99 intake ('94 motor) and start stringing wires, brackets, etc.

So, are there any issues to look out for on these trucks? Do the tranny lines have check balls in them on '99s?

I'm just looking out for the basics really, as I plan to drive this thing and use it to help move 3 hours away.

You will also have to use the 99 flexplate on the 94 motor for the converter bolts to line up. 96 and up have a 90 degree bolt pattern. Earlier models have one offset hole for the converter bolts.

Yep I swapped flexplates out before I did anything. I am replacing the valley pan gasket just in case before the intake goes on. Where is the check ball located? I thought the were 86'd after '98, but I wasnt sure.
