Just picked up a good used '70 gas tank from a Swinger to put in my '72. I noticed that my car has the one vent line in the top half of the tank in the middle, but the replacement tank does not. Can I still use this tank without finding the '70 fuel filler with the vent? How can I vent this tank with the '72 filler?

Thanks,
Paul

A vented gas cap or a sending unit with the extra 1/4" nipple for a tank return & use it instead for a vent. I'd put a cheap parts house gas filter on it with a short piece of neoprene hose to keep debris out of the tank/fuel system. with correct reading sending units being as rare as hens' teeth I'd pull it & solder in a nipple if going that route
