Sorry, I think I might be beating a dead horse on this one but here goes...

I have a very nice set of 15x6.5 rally wheels and with factory type trim rings apparently made out of unobtainium I have been scouring the archives here as well as the net in general trying to work out if there something which comes close to that factory look. I've found some older posts which point to Ebay auctions which are long since closed, and some which say Chevy 15x8 rally trim rings will fit, but I'm seeing many variations of those out there. Anyone have some advice?

My understanding is that they 15x6.5 was only available for a few years in the mid 70s. I would prefer brushed finish rings but if all I can get are polished I can live with that.

Probably not what you are looking for but...
These are from a 70's full size Pontiac.
They are brushed aluminum.
Wish I had a better shot of 'em.

I have mechanical Aptitude.
I can screw up anything.

I just purchased some generic trim rings from Summit, I have 15 x 6.5 on the front of my GTX.

They fit pretty good.

Those don't seem too bad at all. I was trying to look at them on Summit this past week but the picture of the front doesn't work on there. Even looks to have a nice crisp break near the outside of the rim.

Those are nice, would you measure the depth for us to see if they would fit/look OK on a 15X7 cop wheel?

Want to avoid too much gap on the inside if possible
because they're orange wheels.

Thanks, Joe

From Summit's site;
Notes: 2.50 in. width ring. Under lip to inside edge is 2.00 in. depth.

Those do look nice for the $$
I may have to buy one and see if I can give it the brushed finish

Here is a pic of the Wheel Vintiques 15 x 7 brushed ring. They appear to be too deep. I measure about 3 inches deep from lip to edge. Will sell them for $125 set of 4.

Those look a lot like the rings I removed from the wheels. Here's some pics of my best old ring.

Edit: Fixed the attachement, Not a fan of the 4 spring clips retaining system on this one

Are you looking for perfect ones?

I think I have some used ones around that are marked 15x6.5.

What exactly should they look like? Brushed finish?

I beat this horse a couple of years ago. I had 4 of those rims and sandblasted, epoxy primed and painted to use. I couldn't find the right rings that would fit and stay. I finally found some NOS for $1000 and another set for $400. I replaced all the wheels with 15 x 7 and 15 x 8 repros and rings from Summit for the same money and sold the finished rims for a few hundred. Some of that size were used on the TA's and AAR's. Others were from the mid 70's. The mid 70's ones are not worth a lot. Hope they work out for you though.

I must have got lucky, no problems at all so far and I push the car pretty hard when I'm in the mood.
