I have a 70 cuda that im looking to put an overdrive transmission in. I have a mildly built 318 that will be used for the engine and I have an overdrive 833 transmission that has both shifter mounting locations. It has none of the linkage. Im just wanting a list of other items I will need to buy to put the transmission into my car. The car is currently an automatic car so keep that in mind. My friend has a 4 speed no console hump for my car that I can buy. Im pretty sure Ive located a bellhousing for an OD unit also. So what else will I need to purchase and if possible let me know what other cars I could search for to take the parts off of. Thanks!

My son and I did this conversion on his 71 Challenger. You will also need the shifting tabs on the side of the tranny. A small but important part is the small bracket with the studs that acts as a stiffener through the cowling next to the master cylinder for the clutch pedals. I believe on 1970 E-bodies, the master cylinder had a bigger plate to act as the cowling stffener to be correct. If you put in the clutch start switch, you'll need to wire it in. Also needed is the clutch fork return spring.
