This might sound stupid to some people, but how can i get the pin out that is holding the shifter in on the column???

That is not a stupid Q at all. The only stupid ones are the ones that aren't asked then a preventable mistake is made. It's a roll pin(has a slot along the length/hole in center). Just need the RIGHT SIZE pin punch or best is a roll pin punch which is the same as a pin punch but has a rounded end on the small end of the punch to keep it from jumping out of the roll pin when you strike it with the right sized hammer. EDIT use the heaviest appropriate hammer you can so as few blows as possible. decreases the chance of damage & be sure & pick the right size of punch so it sets in there right.

I did this on two cars. First one was terrible to get out, then the next one just tapped right out. Good luck...
