I think all the effort to install that inspection cover is more work than dropping the tank if there was an issue. Either one is only necessary IF there's a problem. You seem to be expecting a problem!
Does your tank have a large enough flat spot to accommodate that pump flange ?!?!?
lol good point. yes i guess i do expect problems sometimes! i dont have a large enough flat area. instructions say to hammer and dolly the area flat after hole is cut. i read that on the internet so it must be true ![](/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbs.gif)

Aeromotive Phantom 340
That's a slick setup but it doesn't address the clearance issue between the tank and trunk floor.

2nd shot is tacked together and hung in place to check fitment. Closed cell foam insulation was used between the trunk floor and the aluminum channels as well as between the straps and the tank on the final install.

This is true, but it seems much simpler to use the phantom 340 pump and baffle, space the tank down as required, and perhaps modify the tank straps or j-bolts as needed.

I'm looking at doing the same thing, and I thought the Aeromotive Phantom 340 deal looked to be a bit cleaner install.
its a nice set up, but its 2x the price and i dont see how its cleaner. i like that fabricated tank. slick!

Love that fabricated tank too.
It is way more expensive, but it does come with a higher output pump and it looks like it will be easier to install since you don't need a big flat spot in the bottom of the tank for the baffle.
