Seems like every hardtop '67 Plymouth GTX I see has
chrome trim around Instrument panel and glovebox
door, but My '67 GTX convertible has silver paint ??
Convertibles finished different? Reason? Reflection
from Sun with Top down?? Almost got in fist fight
with knowledgeable Mopar fan who was adamant that My Car should have chrome trim and I told Him mine didn't,and I restored things the way I found them
originally on the Car...

The entire glove box door was vacuum metalized (very thin deposit of aluminum which looked like chrome) and then all was painted with black except the trim around the edges. the instrument cluster was done the same way. This was a fragile plating that often disappeared over time. Many owners replaced it with similar looking silver paint.
