I'll betcha it's a collapsed rotor
Okay, how would that be different at 20 mph versus 60 ? The front rotors were replaced a few months ago.... I'm going out to the shop to look at the front end.

The truck is 2 wheel drive. I checked the front end. Tie rods are fine and the ball joints showed no slop. The LCA and UCA bushings still look like new besides road grime. The shocks are original. The truck is lowered 2 inches up front and 4 in the rear. It has been this way since it was new.

99% of the time we found bad rotors.Does the steering wheel shake when it does it?If so the rotors are bad.New dosent make good. That and at 60 it takes more to stop the truck than at 20.After 30 years in the shop Ive seen it all.A bad bearing could be the problem but its doubtful.Rocky

I still say its the rotors.I bet if you chuck them on a lathe they are warped.Been there and seen it too many times.Speed and heat increases the shake.Rocky

Rear rotors wont make the steering wheel shake.Only the fronts will. When they get heated it becomes worse.Just because the fronts were changed dosent make them good now.At the shop we used mostly Advanced rotors.Had less problems than with the high buck rotors.Believe me Ive replaced thousands of them.Usually the rotors today are so thin that most cant be turned.Rocky

Does it seem to do it more after the breaks get warm/hot? Does it do it fist thing, or after you've used them a bit? My 300 would be OK, till you used the breaks (getting them warm-hot), and had them warmed up. Then it would do about the same thing (getting progressively worse as the heat built up). This was due to "hot spots" in the rotors. I replaced the rotors, and problem gone. I know, you replaced them a while back. But that doesn't mean the rotors are still the best (don't know where you got them, how good a product they are). How long after you replaced the rotors did the problem expose it's ugly head? Did the breaks do this with the first set of rotors you had on the truck?

Ever replace the front calipers and brake hoses? A sticking caliper or collapsed brake hoses will make the pads have too much drag on the rotors. The further you drive the hotter they get. Bet that why it seems to do it after driving some. I would replace the front calipers and hoses.
I would hope FrankenBerri has checked that potential situation out previously. Spmething like this you could smell the brake pads and also there would be hot-spots on the rotors I would think.

The problem only happens after the brakes are warmed up and yes, it does get worse the more I use the brakes. They are Mopar rotors from Autowest Dodge. I replaced them a few months ago and all was fine with them until a few weeks ago. There are several times in my drive home where I encounter slowdowns, going along at 70 then down to below 20 in short distances. I suppose it is quite possible that the fronts may have warped.
Have you by any chance checked to see if the rear calipers may be seized??? If the rears aren't working, then the poor front brakes are doing all the stopping.....I bet you just few weeks of driving like that would cause the fronts to fail from the excess heat. And.....Mopar rotors are good parts....sure you can get aftermarket good ones too, but a lot of the aftermarket ones now are offshore junk...stay FAR away from those!!!!
