Hello all, I have been trying to get inline tube to make me the correct front axle lines for my 1983 4x4 shortbox and they keep making the same wrong ones. The ones they are making me after going to the junkyard to try to get originals are for the vacuum canister for the drivers side axle. My truck does not have that canister and has a 1 piece long drivers side axle. They claim my truck should have the canister and that the axle has either been swapped out or is of the heavy duty style. Does anyone have a pic of the style axle I have or know better the year that the canister started?? Would I need the lines for an earlier axle? Any help will be appreciated. The truck was a /6, a stick, and a W150.

Why dont you make your own? ![](/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/shruggy.gif) A double flare tool and lenghts of brake line from any auto parts store will work.
I am truckless..

I took some pictures for you, hopefully they help. It looks like the CAD brake lines would be longer then the non cad ones. CAD Side CAD 74 74 again ![](http://i.imgur.com/un6rsXV.jpg)

Well, first when I ordered them at the Mopar nats I didnt think there would be an issue. Now that they made the same wrong ones twice, going to the junkyard to find originals and talking to the rep., it appears they have only the mold for the vaccuum style. The difference is with the vaccumm canister the junction block is in the middle of the axle, making the lines almost the same length. My junction block is mounted where the vaccumm can is making a short 16" drivers side and a longer 31" passenger. As far as making my own I have tried that many times with little success and I kinda just wanted to unhook the old and hook up the new as I am re-framing the truck, I also went with the stainless for the harsher Michigan winters. They did offer to make custom lines if I could make close to what I want, but I think an old original set would get me closer. I do appreciate the feedback on this. I didnt think things could get this complicated on a simple truck ![](/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh2.gif) BTW I do have the disc on front. The pics of the 74 look real close with the only difference is where the line goes into the bracket from the front and not the side by the wheels.
