Im working on restoring a set of Challenger seats. Just curious if these markings on the seat frames have a particular meaning. Has anyone ran across this before?

I have an LA car and mine did not have any markings on the rails or seat frames.
How are you planning on restoring the seat tracks? I can tell you NOT to have them akaline dipped and powder coated. I made a mess of mine and now need to redo. What's your plan for the seat tracks?

What's wrong with powder coating them?

Power coating is thick. Every time you sat in them, it will crack the paint and fall off. Springs are meant to flex.

People have leaf springs and torsion bars powder coated. I haven't heard of those failing. That's strange. I've seen others post pics of their powder coated seat frames.

I just had the upholstery shop strip my frames so I could have them coated. They are nasty since they came out of a convertible. I thought powder coating would be better protection for them in the future.

Ahhhhh seat tracks. I'm glad to have them but they are a pain to restore. Right now mine are sitting next to the blast cabinet. I did a surface blast awhile back and now my plan is to blow out as much of the media as possible get them working smoothly and hit them with some semi gloss then re-lube.

Any one else find similiar markings on the seat frames?

Nothing that I can see. I was talking about the seat tracks mine are a mess now that I powder coated them it got in the bearings and keeps jamming them up,
Anybody know how to pull the seat tracks apart?
