quick question folks, got this street demon going on the ol 68 satellite. it used to have the hot air intake manifold operated choke... anyone know a wire or spot to tap into easily to run the electric choke? something that can be converted back to stock if necessary later on, want to do as little wire harness hacking as possible since the original is nice. i've got the old oil light wire that is just hanging out but i'm not sure there is current running through that wire?

Your parts house would have a brass terminal triple tap (1 female/2 male). Use it on the blue wire alt field terminal then connect the field wire and a new wire to the choke onto the other two terminals. dont use the oil psi wire

On a '68 you wouldn't want the blue field wire (it has variable voltage), you'd want the blue wire on the IGN side of the regulator. On '70 and later the blue field wire is battery voltage.

it'd be a green field wire (68) & yes variable voltage & not the one to be used. I was thinking that it was the later setup for some reason

The green wire on the left is the only field wire to the alt & it should not be used. Later (70 up) alt systems have a blue and a green wire to the alt fields & you'd tap into the blue wire at the alt. As JK said the blue wire on the right is the one to tap into to feed the elec choke
