I know this is a matter of personal preference, so I want to know what you have tried and liked?
76 Dart Swinger, 225, A833OD. Front disks, 1 1/8" sway bar, KYB shocks. Daily driver, and it gets driven hard...but it sees an occasional gravel road as well.
How big of a torsion bar would you recommend based on your personal experiences? .89 or .92 are the two I'm considering right now. Thanks.

I'd go with the .92s myself. I have a 70 Duster that I put .990s on with Edelbrock shocks and really like the feel and handling.

My wifes car is a 75 Duster 360, I put in .990 bars w/ a full P-S-T kit and the car drives like a dream now!
Next suspension upgrade will be a rear sway bar and upgraded front sway bar.

I would go with the .920's. I have 1.09s in mine, Full Engery Suspension, 1" sway bar, re-enforced lower control arms, fully welded K-frame. I am still building the car, hopefully I will be able to start it up for the first time in the Spring of '09. But I have a big block in there... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WOVWfAzP-gc

I have .920's and a 360/A833, and lower than stock ride height (just barely tucks the front tire)...and I wish it was stiffer...it STILL rides like a Cadillac. I'd go with .990's or 1.04's

Good info guys, keep it coming.
dgc333: Very detailed info, thank you.
Gmachine: Please tell me more. Rear susp. set up? Wheel/tire specs? I've admired you car for awhile. Not that mine will ever get there, but it doesn't hurt to dream.
Goldduster: Still soft with .92s? Beautiful car btw, I'm considering a pinstripe like that if I ever repaint my Dart.
I have a factory rear sway bar I will install later if that makes any difference to your suggestions?

Don't bother with the .89's
Just go with .99's. I know the /6 is lighter than a V8, but 76's A-bodies weigh more than the pre 70 A-bodies.
I've daily driven (hard) my 340 68 Barracuda with .99's to work for years and driven it across country like 4 times. It's still my primary car that I own (have a company van I drive for work).
My current setup listed below. Future plans (if money falls out of the sky) for some bigger T-bars, front and rear 275/40/17 tires on 17x9's, 13" disks with good calipers, brake ducts.
.99 T-bar stock 340 original 40 year old rear springs Addco 1 1/8" front 3/4" rear sway bars 245/50/15 BFG Comp TA, 15x8 rallyes, 4.5 bksp 73-76 k-member welded reinforced Mopar reman power steering box La Carra steering wheel Moog offset 7103 rubber UCA bushings for caster on stock A-arms poly: LCA, strut, sway bar, leaf bushings Alignment: 4.4 deg pos caster, 1 deg neg camber, 1/16" toe in 11.75 front disk, 10" stock rear drums Mopar Police semi metallic disk pads, braided flex lines, adj. prop. valve, MP alum master QA1 single adjustble front shocks Koni SPA1 rear shocks

Wow, I'm amazed at the general consensus (.94ish). Now just to double check, we are talking about daily driven street machines, right? I have to deal with worn out concrete, random potholes, gravel, and cattle guards on occasion. I'll make the final call next week. Thanks again for sharing your experiences.

I'm getting ready to order Firm Feel 1.00" bars. They have a spring rate of 195 lb/in which is simular to MP .990" bars (they have a rate of 200 lb/in). I am putting them into my '71 Demon with a 360.

I put my .99 T-bar setup in my Barracuda in 1993 15 years ago and drove it back to college in Ames, Iowa and back to Los Angeles in the summers until 1997. I've driven in snow storms, ice storms, rain storms, all kinds of weather. All around rural Iowa as my relatives live in a town of 500. It's been to Minnapolis, Chicago, St Louis and few times each also.
I remember grates in the pavement in downtown Chicago. It was during Spring Break and there were some snow flurries so I could spin the tires on the gratings.
Then I drove it from 3 years from West Los Angeles to Thousand Oaks 40 miles round trip on 3 different freeways including the most trafficed stretch of hwy in the world (405 Sepuveda Pass).
I've got about 50,000 miles on it so far since 1993.
