While priming and turning over engine slowly I notice a lot of oil coming from between shaft and head and nothing from rockers. I do have the shafts facing down. Is this normal? It has a small solid roller and crane aluminum rockers. I did not restrict oil to the top end.

Are you talking its leaking where the shafts fit down in the groves of the head? No, that isn't normal. Do you have shims between the shaft and the head? If its leaking there, the oil cant go into the shaft and out of the rocker arms. Must be a pretty big leak. Check to make sure the shaft is down in the groove and the washers or shims you are using isnt holding the shaft out of the grove.

Upon further inspection, being used shafts, it looks like they are out of round. I don't have shims under them.
