I posted this question over on the truck board also. Ive got a Dana 60HD out of a 73 Ram Im going to have narrowed. Ive started tearing it down but dont have a socket that will fit the pinion nut. I have a 1 5/16" socket but its thick walled and wont reach nut in the recessed area of the yoke.
Does this take a special socket and if so where can I get one and what size?
Thanks in advance.

I just put a standard socket in the lathe and turned it down a little.

I've been using a stanley 34 mm, 1/2" shallow chrome socket. It's thin enough.

I just bought a cheapie chinese 1 5/16" socket and ground down on the sides a little until it fit. Worked like a charm.
