I want to see pictures of air boxes that you guys have fabricated yourself, and talk about how you did it/what you used.

I have a cowl hood for my truck that I'd like to get painted and put on this winter. I would also like to make a box to shield the air filter/throttle body so that it only pulls air from the cowl, sealing the area in the cowl off from the rest of the engine bay (and heat)

I will be watching this thread, as I do all air pan threads. I have been fighting this problem for awhile. I have tried to run a 6-pak scoop,,,with and without an air pan,,sealed and not sealed. I could not get it to perform as well as a cowl hood. I have found, that MY cowl hood, works best without an air pan sealed to the hood. It also runs better with an air filter than without an air filter. It runs the best with just an air filter and no air pan without the foam to seal to the hood. I would like to be able to Test/Tune at my local track on Friday nights,,but they don't treat the track for T/T, so you can't get much reliable info except on raceday. Good Luck!!

I think a airpan on a cowl hood is a waste of time. But one thing I did and helped was cut a piece of plexiglass to cover the cat whiskers and drilled small holes in the plexiglass and used small wireties to block the air from going down them instead of going in the hood.Hope this helps Kenny

But make sure u put something on the carb vents.I put a 90* plugwire boot on both of my vent tubes and turn them too the front of the car so the air don't try to suck the fuel up out of them.
