I am looking into getting a mega block for a project I'm working on. I have seen a lot of information on here about the Koleno, Indy Max and KB blocks but not the Mopar/ World iron blocks. Does anyone have experience with them. I am looking to build around a 500-540, E85, either twin turbo or procharged engine. Shooting for 1000hp at the crank to start and have room to improve. Going to be 75% street and 25% strip so I really don't think I need an aluminum block. Are the Mopar/World blocks good quality pieces? If they are descent is there any dealer that's better to deal with than others? Are there any otherr manufacturers out there that I'm missing? Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks
Chris

The World cast iron Mopar blocks are a fairly decent block for what your doing 1000 HP with either the blower or turbos on E85 is really easy to do I'm assuming it will be EFI also so you could probally make 1000 HP on E85 with EFI and two large throttle bodys N/A with a good set of heads also The key is the intake, exhaust, cam and C.I. and compression ratio for excellent results How fast do you want to go and how much traction due you have now?

I have not decided on EFI or blow thru yet. I have some of the stuff for EFI but would not have a problem with thru. It will have Caltracs and mono leaf in the back.

Me thinks you don't have good enough suspension for 1000 + HP What size and brand tires? Please don't tell me radials anything in any size

Mopar Muscle recently ran three articles on a blown alcohol hemi that I built using the World aluminum block. 1500 HP was no problem at less than 10 lbs of boost. Then I sold that engine to a fellow who wanted to step up. I tuned that engine last week on the dyno and it made over 1700 HP at 13 lbs of boost. No problem with the block.

I used all new ARP main studs, upgraded the head studs to L19 material, and pinned the cam bearings so they wouldn't move, but the block itself help up with no problem. The main caps showed some effects of "cap walking" but you would expect that at these power levels.

I would have preferred a KB but Ken was not able to ship quickly enough.
