Putting a different hood on my Dart and need to store the factory Swinger hood. Looking for ideas of safe storage to preserve the paint etc. Was thinking of hanging it on the wall in the garage (into the studs) only concern is it's fairly heavy. Also thought of hanging it from the ceiling. Thanks for any input.

I've put my hoods up on the ceiling before. It takes a bit extra work with 2 people but once it is up it is out of the way. Put an old blanket or some beach towels on the top to keep the dust off of it. I had a hood on the wall years ago and Mr. Murphy paid a visit to my garage one night while I was cleaning some bolts with a wire wheel. The wheel ate the bolt and shot it across the garage putting a small dent/chip in the middle of the hood...go figure...

I took some 2"angle iron foot long bolted to my studs cut a notch on other end bout a inch deep
ran some bolts 6-8" long into the back hood hinge bolt hole and hung mine on the wall
there deff not going any where

Mine was hanging on lag bolts in the wall studs for years while the car was apart. No problems at all.
