Curious to hear peoples edelbrock 2x4 carb setups.

What size carbs?
Jetting?
Rods?
Motor combo?

I have a mod man intake on a real mild 499. We run two 1 inch spacer/restictor plates and two edelbrock 800s. They are jetted 113/107 and i stepped the rods one step leaner on the idle side.

Its run a best of 10.0 in limited tests due to us keeping it restricted back to a 10.50 index.

I want to play with it and see how much is left in it.

Sounds like it is working good. What is the rest of the combo? What is it in? How much it weigh?

Last Saturday I went 9.27@146.7 Two 750 Edelbrocks on an Indy cross ram. 113/113, stock rods, chokes removed. I added a 2nd fuel inlet more for looks than anything else, no other mods to the carbs.

You call that a mild build ? Nice looking Coronet by the way. Ron

dvw - how does yours idle or behave at low rpm? You have a lot more plenum with the big indy intake as compared to the mod man i am running. How did you get to 113/113? Did track testing show the secondaries as being lean or dyno time?

ok... somewhat mild.

66 what was your best performance with a single plane and one holley versus the modman edelbrocks you have now.

It ran 9.91 at 137 with an Indy single plane and a holley 950 HP. It was struggling though. I had an ignition problem. So its not a true comparison.

I ran 10.10 at 132 this past weekend with the restrictor plates out but the weight was still in the car. ( 70 lbs )

What fuel are you using? That can make a big difference comparing to others.

According to the moroso slide rule you are about 70 hp shy with the mod man at this time. Hopefully with some further tuning you will close the gap some.
DVW I believe is running 572 ci with his Indy ram intake.

Idles at 1000 with 285@.050cam. Jetting is very unscientific . It runs decent, drive ability is good, others have used similar jetting, plugs look ok. My O2 sensor is broke. I'm sure there is more in it. Lazy 60 to 330. It would run better if I new how to tune with more than a stone, stick, and an ax.
