I am in the process of collecting parts for the 440 I am planning on putting in my 68 Charger this winter. Will the Edelbrock Torker 440 single plane manifold fit under the hood with a Holley carb?
Thanks Mike

I know that that same combo would not fit under the hood of my '68 Coronet. From what I have been told the Edelbrock Performer RPM will make as much and more power than the Torker and I think it is shorter. If I were you I would go to the Edelbrock catalog and look up the dimensions that should be there before I made a decision either way. The Torker is fine if you already have it, you will just have to work with it.

Now that I think of it, I may have compromised the height issue with a spacer...after all it was only 30 years ago!

Torker and Holley fit under the hood of my 67 GTX. Is it a Torker or a Torker 2. I don't know about the 2.

The dual plane intakes make more torque and drive nicer under 2500 RPM than the single planes do I would look for a early Eddy CH4B intake or one of the Mopar dual plane aluminum intakes. A lot of guys on this forum love the Holley Street Dominator intakes, I've never used one so I don't really know how they actually compare to the others, sorry I'm almost positive the Eddy RPM Performer won't fit undr a stock 1968 to 1970 Charger, hopefully some one who really does know will chime in on that Your choice

I'm running a performer RPM on my 440 under my stock '70 hood and it fits but it is really close if you are running an air cleaner. My setup is an Eddy Performer RPM, quick fuel 750, no spacer (just the usual carb flange gasket)and a KN 1.25" drop base filter (my stock dual snorkel filter housing does not fit). It doesn't leave enough room to run a wing nut without scratching the underside of the hood. It might be worth noting that I also am running the Schumacher urethane engine mounts so it isn't sagging in the engine compartment.

My torker fit under a stock 68 Satellite hood with a typical drop base 14x3. Hood pad was gone. The torker is actually a pretty good intake but, as already mentioned, it is a little soft on the low end. Needs some stall.

I ran a torker with a 750 dp and a stock air cleaner. No problems.

yes and you can use a 1/2" 4 hole spacer too.

Thanks for all of the reply's
I am glad it will fit and I plan on using about a 3000 stall converter anyway so I am not too worried about it being a single plane.
I ran one years ago on a 440 with a MP 557 cam and it worked pretty good! This has a custom Comp 502/273intake and 511/279 and will have a sure grip 3.23 rear.
