I would like to put a low-rise dual quad set-up on my 340 and am in the process of looking for an Edelbrock dual quad intake and Edelbrock 500 cfm carb. I currently have an Edelbrock Performer 500 cfm manual choke carb (model 1404) to use as one of the carbs. I had been thinking I would look for another carb just like the one I have. My question is, should I get another carb the same as the one I have or should I get the electric choke version (model 1403) of it? Is it a good idea to have one electric choke and one manual choke carb or should they both be electric or both manual or doesn't it matter? What would be the best combination in your opinion? By the way, does anyone know what the Edelbrock part number is for their low-rise small block dual quad intake? I know they don't make it anymore but I can't recall what the number is. Thanks.

When running inline dual fours its common practice to have a choke only on the primary carb, choke type to suit the user.

The most common dual quad intake found for a small block is the Offenhauser. The port size tend to be the smaller 273-318 size.

PAW used to have them advertised in all the old hot rod magazines. I used to own one, but never got around to using it.

Too many cars, too many parts, too little coin, too little space to work in, too little time left to make it all happen! Update: down to one ride, still too many parts, a little more jingle in the pocket, gaining space, and it's going to happen this year!

Can be bought many places new. Single plane, good bases for blower intakes too!
