I just purchased a like-new B&M deep pan from a friend of mine, and was wondering what pan gasket you guys recommend. I do not want any leaks whatsoever! Someone had told me the new factory steel-reinforced rubber gaskets are a good bet...could I get some suggestions, please? Thanks in advance! Randy B.

That factory pan gasket is the ONLY one I would run. They just plain work and they are reusable.

To be clear - the newer o-ring style gaskets that can be bought today at a dealership are the ones to use.........

My opinion is the gasket isnt as critical as the pan. I just put a new summit aluminum pan on mine and used the cheapy paper gasket drove it for a couple hrs last nite and its dry as a bone. Your results may vary. Just leave out the rtv. But if its steel, definitely the reusable mopar gasket.

THERE you go ... if the pan-rail is flat ... a cheapO cork should work fine !!

I just used the cheapo cork one with my stock steel pan, because I already had it and the the stores were closed. Used some of the red spray tack, no leaks here...BUT I would have preferred a steel/rubber

Have A&A deep steel pan; cork gasket; no leaks.

If pan is chrome, suggest etching the gasket mating surface lightly so the gasket has a surface it can adhere to.

Chrysler part# 2464324AC. It's a re-useable gasket.

My experience has been this.....
CAST aluminum pan : you can use the 2464324AC re-usable gasket.
ANY steel stamped pan: use the cork/rubber impregnated gasket if the pan rails are straight..

I know some of you guys will cry BS, but I've had a FEW leakers and I'll stick to what I say. Nothing worse than a leaky pan after the blanket's on there...makes a messy scene.

my 01 CTD, our 70 Duster, and our old Mirada all ran the same deep stock steel truck pan (47RE), and the stamped factory gasket. Have had the pans off/on numerous times. torque to 125"lb and no probs ever.

I had never heard of the factory steel shim gasket til recently so I put one on my Duster with a deep steel pan. I used to always use good cast aluminum pans so the paper gaskets were fine.
