for those that may want to know, it crosses over to anything ending in an "8A" in FRAM

You don't want to put a fram on anything you have respect for.

Are you stuck on only a not stock looking Mopar filter ?

i didn't go with the fram - just now know that is what it crosses to - i went with a hastings filter - but i can't tell you which one it was - - the one i took off the car had a "copyright 1970" sign on it...so assume it was a nos piece - no idea where to get something like that - the hastings will work for now until i can figure out the right thing to get!

If you like your motor DO NOT use Fram filters. They are inferior at best.

Unless you are totally anal about original numbers, but you can't be considering you have an electric fuel pump, any good (non fram) filter will be fine. Hastings has been around for longer than your car has. They have a good rep.

It might have been NOS , but with this part number PN P4529805 , it was NOS from the 90's ....

on the original numbers thing, i am trying to keep it as original as i can - so taking the electric fuel pump as an example, that is the way the car came - if it weren't there, i wouldn't have added it - but i am not racing to undo do it and put it back to bone stock - little, by little - on the brakes, i just rebuilt them and keep them drums all the way around just the way they came - with the master cylinder, i put the the 67 mc in because it is 2 stage and so for safety if i lose one set of brakes i have the other - that is kind of the philosophy - in terms of what i got, the car is pretty much stock (but with the odd exception (like the fuel pump))

You aren't going to find an original filter unless you look on places like ebay , there you may run across a 40 yr old filter for $1500,. Me , the last thing I would do is put a 40 yr old filter on anything that is going to be running.

For reference, the "8A" crosses to a Wix 51515/NAPA Gold 1515 (same filter). Hastings is good also.

It's Swifty! Swifty, you toad sucker!
