i know i shouldn't worry about MPG in a SRT10, but ... i have a chance to trade my '05 Ram 4x4 quad cab hemi for an '04 SRT10 straight across. the best i get with my hemi is about 15.5. i have heard of a couple of instances where the SRT10 will get 16 on the highway. with the economy the way it is, my truck just keeps going down in proce, but i think the SRT10 will stay about the same and maybe rise if this economy ever rights itself. what do ya think?

They're probably not all that horrible on the highway but hard on gas in town. I wouldn't care and I would do the deal.

Do you use your truck as a truck? From what I understand, the SRT10 is not intended to be used as a working truck. Something about towing or load capacity.

If I remember correctly the 2 doors are not rated for towing. The 2005+ quad cabs were rated at 7500lbs. The few people I know with them said they were lucky to get more than 10mpg. But which would I rather have? The SRT10.

The hell with it, I say do it! You're right about value, the SRT will hold it's $$ much better over the long run. Plus, do you honestly think you'll ever regret trading your truck for anything with a viper engine under the hood?

But yeah, from what I remember, the 2dr trucks got the manual trans and they were not rated for towing or much payload in the box. However the 4dr's got the auto trans and were rated for a useful amount of towing/payload. Afterall, it's the same trans as the automatic cummins trucks get.
