markrr OP super stock M Joined: Apr 2004 Posts: 965 S.W. Pennsylvania	I have a 1974 440 with HP stamped on the id pad. What car(s) would have came with a 440HP in '74 or has the HP been added? If it matters, the engine has the small balancer.

Bumbalawski enthusiast Joined: Sep 2003 Posts: 318 Beans Cove Pa	I had an original 73 HP 440 engine a few years ago. It used the regular (neutral) dampener and convertor. I took it apart and it had the forged crank and "six pack" rods. Yours may be the same. I understand the 73 and 74 HP 440's had the good internals.
